Re: Portfolio Show and Tell
I'm also a 3D artists, mine is mostly focused on wearable art though. I used to make stuff constantly and stuff that was consistant with my big idea, but now its all just wearable stuffs. I love your chair!!!! It's really cool how you were able to include the bottom base of it all. Is it in the round or is it only to be seen from a front / side view?
Re: Portfolio Show and Tell
It's meant to be seen from all sides. I can post a ictire of the back later. And I wish I could make clothes. And thanks

clothes are easy to design, actually making the clothes is the hard part. I need to learn ho to do this kinda stuff so that I can stop paying people to do it lol
Re: Portfolio Show and Tell
I thought that I would go ahead and post this since its what I am currently dabbling in. This year at Gov. school, exspect to see me with my camera at almost all times. This is a video I made and if you are epiliptic, do not watch.

Thank you ^.^
I like your chair and I most def. appreciate the fact that you thought in the round. It makes me upset when people don't do it because I was forced to do it all the time at my school lol

Yeah, coming from southwest VA makes me feel different. :/
I used to live near the coast though. Nice place to live.

omgg all of everyone's artwork is sickkk. especially natalie. youre freakin amazing at abstract stuff. i wish i could have an abstract style. haha i think if i tried it, it would look more like scribble on paper
heres some of my stuff...
this one is graphite. though im wayy too lazy to use all the different types of pencils, so i used one ebony pencil for the whole thing haha. also..its not quite done yet. its a pic of it before i finished the background

He's adorable! And you handled the charcoal so well--getting that hard edge combined with the soft values frequently ends in muddled grays for me. Your image is so sharp!
Here is the only printmaking I've done in years. I have little tolerence for abstraction, actually, mostly because I never plan enough time to work the kinks out before its critique. Abstraction is so hard, and really can't be rushed. Of all styles, abstract/non-objective work talks to me the most when it is being painted.
The series is called "Circadian Rhythm." From left to right, they are "Counting Sheep," "Rapid Eye Movement," and "Five More Minutes." I actually punctured a hole in one of them the day before adjudication. Can you find it? I patched it well.

Natalie-- is the hole in the bottom half of the last picture in your post? There's a dot that's slightly lighter than the paper around it...
I like the theme of these and how you used faded ink to represent waking up. I want to try some sleep-themed artwork sometime...

Re: Portfolio Show and Tell
Nope It was actually a gaping rip. The jagged edges of color hide it well, and I must say that this picture also smooths it over a lot.
The assignment was to create a series of at least three monoprints that dealt with the theme of "place." I tried doing the bedroom, but ended up with the places you go while you're sleeping!
Ah, watching people sleep freaks me out sometimes.

Re: Portfolio Show and Tell
wow those are really good! i cant do collages for my life haha
heres some printmaking i did...i remember i had to do a collage with them but it ended up looking worse than the actual print itself. these are two separate ones but with different ink colors. the print is made out of 3 different printing plates layered on top of one another. these are like the only 2 that lined up perfectly haha

Here is an octopus modeled using stoneware clay and fired using the raku process. I'm very pleased with the color variation:
