Re: Packing Lists!
Wade you've got a thing about nudity don't you?
We should post something on the FAQ board. On what occasions are clothes optional?

Ha ha ha! Don't worry Ace--you're safe from Wade. He's visual arts, which don't get roomed with Humanities students. But drama boys (and Ryan)--watch out!
Ahhhh! Roommates coming so soooon!

Re: Packing Lists!
yeah, we only get sent our roomates but by asking around, we can find out our suitemates...well if they use the forum that is..
I thought Humanities and VPA were paired up together? Maybe not?
I will just bring a comforter and maybe an extra light blanket and lots of pillows!!!

Oh you're actually not allowed to bring bikes sorry :-(. I know, i wanted to bring one too (also no roller blades or skateboards). The pamphlet has a list of what you can't bring.

Does anyone know if we get access to the gym/rec facilities on campus? Or the library? I know we get computer access...

Yeah we're allowed to use all of the gyms and all of the libraries. My brother went two years ago (it was at Richmond then though) and he used the library a bunch.

Re: Packing Lists!
There should be stationary bikes in the gym....actually cheap ones hurt your butt really bad, but all in all they are an okay alternative.

Re: Packing Lists!
yes but the POINT of biking is to GO somewhere. To feel the air against your face... your a cross country runner you understand... but I shant gripe... I'm still to psyched to GO

Re: Packing Lists!
Well personally I'd take a treadmill vs. actually outdoors running anyday. I'm not sure why but i much prefer the gym to outdoors running and biking

Re: Packing Lists!
I'm having trouble keeping up with this thread --- lots of questions scattered about and I'll see if I can hit some of them.
Correct on the no bikes, roller blades, etc. Mostly a safety issue - both yours and those around you.
While we will have access to fields and such, CNU's fitness center is 18 or over only. So, out of fairness it is not an option for any Governor's School student. Sorry 'bout that, but it is out of my control.
I don't have personal experience with the A/C at CNU, but previous experience with institutional A/C seems to be feast or famine. I'd suggest packing along a sweatshirt or sweater in case classrooms are chilly.
Library access - totally.
Tools - sure, though please don't take apart the furniture.
And good reminder about the extra long twin sheets.

Dang. No fitness center?
I'm tryin to get in shape this summer. I guess I'll just have to exercise outside, and do good old fashioned push ups and crunches.

Re: Packing Lists!
No fitness center? Awwww! I completely agree with you Bri, for some reason I just prefer gyms to the outdoors. The great outdoors is lost on me. Last year at a retreat I went to, instead of running outside, I ran laps around the halls of the dorm at 3 in the morning.

Re: Packing Lists!
I'm not really bringing costumes. I am bringing jazz shoes, character shoes, and tap shoes though. I really don't know what I would bring for "costumes".

Oh geez, Around the World! I don't have anything....I could probably dig up an asian dress from somewhere, but I'm not very authentically Asian at all. OH! I GOT IT! I CAN WEAR A TOGA!
Has anyone got a full blown bunny suit for the holiday one?
