Me too! Actually, we did the Lord of the Rings marathon thing (extended versions, even) on New Year's Eve one year. Very cool. I have done the original Star Wars Trilogy back before the new trilogy appeared. It really has a redemptive arc (focus on Vader, not Luke) that I think would be enhanced by watching all six. Would love to do the Harry Potter thing, but I think I'll wait until all the movies are out and just go nuts.

My English teacher told me I should see "This Is Spinal Tap", but I haven't gotten around to doing so. Is it good?

Re: Favorite Movies
LOL. Why is that movie so popular with teachers? One of the history teachers at my school is obsessed with it. It's honestly one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

yes Crash is amazing!! It was so hard to watch yet really really powerful.
I went and saw star trek b/c I love Zachary Quinto. So in order for my friend to go see that with me I had to first see the new Xmen with him. I thought it'd be stupid (I'd never seen any of the others) but it was SOOO GOOD!! I watched the first one last night and loved it. Then watched it again this morning. My friend lent me all three like an hour ago and I'm so excited to watch them!!!

spinal tap is SO funny! it's like a mock-u-mentary of the band experience... i think one of the bands they're poking fun at is the beatles. i'm such a comedy person... i don't have patience for many non-comedies.
the Big Lebowski is probably one of my favorites, hahaha i believe it holds the record for most f-bombs ever in a movie?
i also LOVE Stepbrothers, the sweet child o mine done a capella makes my life.

Re: Favorite Movies
Star Trek was awesome. That's one of my new favorites, all of the actors were really good, the action was amazing, it was funny, and open to a sequel (which i'm already looking forward to). Still, my favorite movie is garden state. I also like Little Miss Sunshine, Crash, Big Fish, Slumdog Millionare, and V for Vendetta. They're all awesome movies.

I saw Star Trek last nite, and I really didn't want to at first, but now I'm glad I did. It was pretty rad.

Re: Favorite Movies
i'm not a sci fi person at all. I liked the movie and like you eyebrow (sorry i forgot your real name) found it relatively entertaining and certainly a new experience for me but i can't say i thoroughly enjoyed the entire movie. at parts i was like uh. . . OK? odd but whatever. though as i've already stated i very much enjoyed zachary quintos performance and the guy that played kurk wasn't bad on the eyes either. AND i love the guy who plays scottie. he was in how to lose friends and alienate people and he is just so funny. so the actors were great! :-D

Re: Favorite Movies
Not a good movie!! Lol, i mean i guess it wasn't like a thought-provoking movie or anything, but i thought it was interesting, funny, had good acting and action, and was overall an enjoyable movie, which is really what I expect from something like that. Idk some movies i watch for pure entertainment rather then to provoke intellectual analysis. Definitly agree with bri about the actors though.

Re: Favorite Movies
Yeah I agree. I liked the movie as a whole but I wasn't super engaged. The whole sci fi thing was new for me and I was like...uh...why are there aliens where there needn't be?? but then I was like oh yeah, they're in space. As I told my friend who went to see it with me.."I found it entertaining. The actors were great, the storyline was decent, and the characters were well developed but I could have done without the trekkie stuff." Which I guess is what makes it what it is.

Re: Favorite Movies
Is there pretty much a general consensus that we need to figure out a way for them to let us see Half-Blood Prince when it comes out? Or am I the only HP geek here?
Re: Favorite Movies
OH MY GOD I TOTALLY THOUGHT OF THAT THE OTHER DAY
i was considering making my mom take me to it on parent visiting day
but i think it would be more fun to see it with other people
they should rent out a theatre so we can have it to ourselves and yell and stuff hahahaha
