Yummy Yummy in my Tummy
I believe that one of the best ways to get to know a person is through their favorite food, so...
What are your gastronomical indulgences? I personally think that sushi is the best food known to man.
Period.

Re: Yummy Yummy in my Tummy
hm.....I'm not sure about food but I know I absolutely love sweet tea. However this summer I learned it was only sold in the South and everyone I talked to from the North was like "WHAT? you put sugar in your tea?!?!" I was rather sad, because I will not live in the South but I'll be sad w/o my sweet tea.

I love the North!! I'm just surprised like McDonalds or something doesn't sell it up there! I'll learn to make my own and slowly but surely addict the North to our liquid sugar!!!

Yes! Sugar! I make my tea with lots of everything--I like it strong with tons of cream and tons of sugar. I'm so un-Chinese...I can't seem to get herbal tea down without some sweetness. Plus tea with honey is too subtle. I need in-your-face sugar.
As to food, I adore pasta. The best food in the world is Digiorno three cheese garlic pizza, which makes you really smelly, but darn it tastes good. I also like mushrooms, juicy fruit (especially pears), and Italian ice. I don't really like to drink plain water unless I'm parched.
Do you all prefer ice cream or smoothies or sherbert or popsicles?

Cotton candy ice creams? Sounds cool. Very sweet. The strangest flavor I've ever had is popcorn.
Has the ice cream truck been by your house yet? When I catch it, I like to get the rocket pops. Last summer I also had these really cool layered life saver popsicles. I have a really bad habit of biting my popsicles though. Total brain freeze, and when I finish early, everyone eats theirs in front of me

Re: Yummy Yummy in my Tummy
popcorn ice cream?? That sounds rather gross. lol. I hate popsicles for that very reason! I'm not a patient person and i don't like to lick popsicles I bite them which is both painful and dissatisfying! The ice cream truck doesn't go around too often here.

Re: Yummy Yummy in my Tummy
The popcorn ice cream was surprisingly good. It was like butter pecan (another one of my favorites) but with caramel and without the pecans. I'm a big fan of Bravo's TOP CHEF, and I always thought that bacon ice cream that they made sounded really nasty.

I completely agree about the Bacon ice cream. That sounds absolutely gross. But I too love the show!

Re: Yummy Yummy in my Tummy
I'm a sucker for french fries. Classic McDonald's fries make me quite happy, but Five Guys is most excellent.
Re: Yummy Yummy in my Tummy
We have a Great Wraps two blocks away from school. (Man, I love gonig to school in the city.) They give discounts for Maggie Walker students because we come in packs.
Anyway, they have these awesome french fries where you can put your own seasoning in the bag. I just like the original seasoning...I put pratically fistfuls in. I'm so going to get hypertension from that stuff! If you go to Great Wraps and come back to school with fries, there's a very high liklihood that they will be shared/stolen/eaten by strangers.

I love going to school in the city too! Starbucks, Chick-fil-a, Chipotle, and Panera are popular with the after school crowd here.
But I still think sushi is the best!

Re: Yummy Yummy in my Tummy
We've also got a Krogers nearby. During off campus lunch days for seniors, it's pretty popular to run by Krogers, grab a pack of sushi, and head back to school to wrap up "home"work.
Do you eat the crazy sushi with raw stuff in it? My dad's a doctor and pretty wary of that stuff. Wasabi? I do California rolls with soy sauce, but my tender tastbuds can't really handle that kind of heat.

Re: Yummy Yummy in my Tummy
My favorite sushi IS sushi with sashimi in it, so yes, I eat the "crazy" stuff
I don't particularly care for wasabi, although I'd use it if I had a cold one day. Eating that stuff feels like sending rocket fuel through your sinuses, not that I've ever tried that.

Re: Yummy Yummy in my Tummy
"If I had a cold one day"? I guess you don't get sick too often then. That's awesome. I don't get stuffy sinuses often, but I tend to get chest colds in the winter and funky eye throbbing from pollen allergies. When I do get a cold, my sinuses clear pretty easily (cuz I'm a spicy food wimp), so I've never tied anything quite as intense as wasabi.
Generally I eat more Chinese food than Japanese food. (Heh, I think it's because, well, I am Chinese.) My grandparents used to own a restaurant, so they make really yummy food. Too bad I didn't inherit/try to learn any of those sweet cookin' skills : (

Re: Yummy Yummy in my Tummy
Hey, I know that Great Wraps! It's like 2 miles from my house. They do have good seasoning for their fries. I also love getting the feta sauce to dip them in. Do you ever walk over to Lowe's and get an italian sausage from Dominic's? Man, do those ever smell good.
Re: Yummy Yummy in my Tummy
I really like the house sauce on my wraps.
I haven't had Dominic's in years, but when we do cool downs around town after cross country workouts, we can always smell the sausages. If we had money on us, I'm sure we would chow down. We like to run to Montana Gold Bread Co. in Carytown and eat their free samples.
