Re: Theatre Kids.....
Haha, Billy mine was an extremely dramatic, teen who was hitchhiking and thought she was going to get raped/killed. It's hilarious I assure you.
My new monologue is actually kinda gross, but I'm really starting to dig it.
How are you guys going about looking for yours? I searched for days on end online, in the library, and in the bookstores. Finally, one night I was in Barnes & Noble and I found one that seemed to be promising and I was about to walk away when the title of another caught my eye. It was tiny and shoved at the end of the row, nearly impossible to see if you didn't know it was there. It was very serendipitous, and I figured, that with a title like that it was too good to pass up, so I bought both. I read through the first one, and it was alright, but when I finished the second one I KNEW that it had to be that.
haha

Re: Theatre Kids.....
My monologue for Gov. School adjudication was from a play that is no longer allowed to be published because the girl who played the role I portrayed got so caught up in her character that she committed suicide. yeah... but I contacted the author and she sent me the script.
For gov school I am going back to the classics...which I really hate to do. I love the modern kinda weird monologues that not everyone will get...but instead I am going between 3 different monologues in Tennessee William's "Streetcar Named Desire".

Re: Theatre Kids.....
So... I still haven't memorized my monologue...I at least picked it out. I can memorize insanely quickly though.
What novel did you get your monologue from? The only time I have to do ten-minute monologues is in Forensics. Does anyone here do forensics? It is so much fun.
