Is everyone an alternate?
I was wondering -- does everyone who was not accepted become an alternate? Or are some students rejected?
Also, how many alternates for the visual arts program are there this year?
Thanks for the information.

Re: Is everyone an alternate?
Anyone who remains eligible for the program who was not selected initially remains in consideration should spots open.
45 students were selected for visual art. I do not know the number of alternates, though I know approximately one third of the nominees overall were selected in the VPA program.

Let me also add, that the initial responses from invited students have come in quicker than usual and so far only one has declined (and that was a humanities student.)
Of course, the students who eventually decline are usually the last ones to respond.

Do you happen to know how many theatre students were selected?

See this thread to see the number of invites for theatre and the others as well.
We'll keep theatre at 48, filling any vacancies with theatre alternates - the 3 theatre faculty like to have even numbers in their project groups.
