Lamvy--how did you get the paint to have that sheen? It's beautiful. I didn't know that acrylic paints could do that! I love the detailing on the edges where it looks like the fabric was sewn together.

thanks!
natalie-sorry i didnt respond earlier! i saw it but then i completelyyy forgot to reply haha. i used a metallic gold acrylic and added tonsss of water to make it really thin so it was like i was painting colored water on it. the whole purse was actually the same dark brown as the color on the band going around the top. but with the thin gold layer on top it made it much lighter. then i took the same dark brown and dry brushed it in certain places to emphasize the contours. i was going for a rough leathery look

I'm Melody.

I knew Natalie in middle school but she probably doesn't remember me very well (hi Natalie :])
I go to Henrico High School for the Center for the Arts. Vis Arts division. Big shock, right?
I live in a little place called Sandston, which I doubt any of you have heard of, but it's pretty much just outside of the Richmond city limits. My address can use either Richmond or Sandston and still work, so I guess it doesn't matter.
If I ever blind you with the obscene colors I wear, I apologize in advance.
And I'm also a little late joining in on this. Story of my life.

Hello Melody! I saw your portrait of Apurva on DevArt. I feel so out of touch with the Moody crowd, though the Gov-Moody crowd still stays pretty tight. It'll be great to reconnect Wink
